WHERE I'VE BEEN: BORACAY, PHILIPPINES

Yes, Welcome to Kalibo Phillippines!

We took an airplane from Taiwan to Kalibo international airport, which is in the capital city of Aklan, then the bus to the port and then transferred to Boracay Island by boats.
Yes...Yes, It's a bit far away, the road and boats weren't that good too....
But it's all worth it after we arrive at the shore... where there were amazing views and friendly greetings by people helping out with the luggages.
As one of the main gate to Boracay, it is extremely busy.

They had a quite clear notice that tells you what to do upon arrival.

After we arrive at Boracay, the first thing we did was check in straight away and arrange our stuff to get ready to explore this beautiful island.
Because we joined the tour, we had our our friendly guide called Steph and his wife. Another thing that surprised me was the fact that camera men were around Steph the whole time. Steph told us that the Philippines government is trying to help provide jobs to their locals. The camera men will take some nice photos for us during our trip, and on the last day will print out the photos and then we can decide whether we want to buy them from him or not.

We stayed at two beautiful resort hotels, Regency beach resort and spa and Discovery Shores.

Most resort hotels have a private beach, so is really nice that you can make the trip even better if you can spend a little extra of your budget on better accommodation.
One sad thing was... Boracay is an island, if you expect you'll have very good internet connection here then you are wrong....
Regency beach resort and spa didn't provide free internet the time we visited (August, 2011). You have to pay for an internet voucher and they will give you wifi user name and password etc. It didn't work at all..... After I complained to to hotel, the answer they gave me was just keep on trying connecting to it....
They have nice pools in the hotel too, so if you are tired of going out you can stick in the hotel. They also have luxury spa treatments that you can chill out and relax after a long day of water sports and activities.

Another nice hotel is call Discovery shores.
They provide perfect services and their room was extremely nice as well.
So cute that they provide the dessert and flowers to welcome our stay.
They provide free wifi but.... don't expect too much.
At least I can connect for a while but not all time.
It is not neccesary to bring your laptop to Boracay with you....
Just go enjoy your holiday :)

If you walk along the beach at night you will find out they have all kinds of stalls selling fresh seafood. Of cause they have lots of restaurant as well, but if you want to enjoy a little asian beachside street food atomsphere, the beachide seafood stalls will be a good idea for you.

When we walk along the street, you can see all different spa or massage places trying to get people's attention. LOL
They are quite friendly even we didn't go to any, they still say hello and greet the people that walk by.

It was sad that the weather wasn't that great, it was pretty cloudy but the sand is amazing.
So soft and fine that you can feel the softness while you are walking on the beach.

One of the main point that people come to Boracay will be for water sports. They is a wide range you can choose to participate in (e.g. banana boat, fly fish, parasailing, jet skiing, scuba diving, helmet diving), just pay your fee on the beach. Don't worry about arranging and planning everything before you come because you can sort most your trip plans after you arrive.

For me Boracay was amazing. The beautiful nature and friendly people makes me want to visit Boracay again. If you are thinking travelling to islands around Asia, Boracay will be a pretty good choice for you.
